The Voice of Women

Benefit event for women in Afghanistan with Suraya Pakzad

Interdisciplinary art performance with painting, language, sound and cello

Every girl and every women should have the right to receive an education and live without opression.

On the occasion of International Girls' Day on October 11, 2022, the artists' collective Heads & Voices presents "The Voice of Women", an experimental performance of language, painting, cello, and electronic sound. These four levels interact directly and intuitively with each other, creating a magical space that inspires the audience to create their own thoughts and images. Portrayed are five women from different countries and contexts who are so brave to dedicate their lives for equality, respect and freedom. They are the faces of Malala Yousafzai, Rebecca Lolosoli, Olga Karach, Patrisse Khan-Cullors and lastly the portrait of Suraya Pakzad. These women are creating sanctuaries in their countries for women fleeing sexual abuse. They support women who are exposed to violence and fight against oppression and injustice.
