In summer, weather permitting, the Queer Garden takes place every 2nd and 4th Thursday in the STRAZE beer garden from 4 pm - 8 pm.
In the Queer Garden, we want to create a safe space for queer people. Sometimes we play, do handicrafts or talk about queer topics. Sometimes we only have the capacity to be there. But you are always welcome to bring something if you have ideas.
Feel free to bring your friends. If you're coming alone, you can write to us beforehand (@queercafe-hgw on Instagram) or talk to the people at the beer trolley. You're also welcome if you're wondering whether you're queer!
Every 4th Thursday will be alcohol-free. That means no alcohol will be served. Please refrain from bringing alcohol!
Barrier (reduction) At the STRAZE garden there are wood chips and grass on the ground. The garden is accessible from the side of the building and via the main entrance. The main entrance has a ramp. The interior rooms are wheelchair accessible. There is one accessible toilet. All toilets are all gender toilets. The garden is accessible from the rear of the building via a small staircase. There is cushioned seating in the garden. There is also a small playground for children.
The "neuro box" is provided. In the box you will find support material such as weighted blankets and pillows, noise-canceling headphones, earplugs and stimtoys. We want to support neurodivergent people in participating in the event. However, the materials can be used by all participants.
