Am I Losing My Mind? (STRAZEcinema)

An emotional journey into the mystery of menopause.
Documentary / DE, DK, NO 2026 / Director: Louise Unmack Kjeldsen / 75 min. / German version narrated by Maren Kroymann / PG12

Although half of the world's population experiences menopause and many women suffer so much that their everyday lives are severely affected, this phase of life is still poorly researched. Now, researchers around the world are searching for answers to understand the effects of declining estrogen levels on the body and brain. This documentary breaks taboos, exposes myths and misinformation, and sheds new light on menopause.

Doors open: 7.30 pm
Start: 8 pm
Admission: €5

The film will be shown in the German-language version (narrated by Maren Kroymann).

Mondays is movie night at STRAZE.

This movie poster for “Am I loosing my Mind?” has a striking, almost scientific aesthetic. The background is rendered in a yellowed, parchment-like tone, suggesting a certain solemnity and historical depth. In the center, a large, blue-shaded depiction of a human brain dominates, overlaid with notes and chemical formulas like a technical drawing. At the top, an older woman sits in a deep squat, also rendered in shades of blue, making her appear almost like a sculpture or a scientific observation. Her posture seems focused and perhaps a bit tense. The film title “Am I loosing my Mind?” stands out in bright orange. Surrounding the brain are handwritten-looking terms such as “estrogen deficiency,” “hormonal fluctuations,” “cognitive impairment,” “insomnia,” and “hot flashes,” which directly refer to the symptoms and biological aspects of menopause. A chemical structural formula, likely for a steroid hormone, is prominently placed on the brain. The central question, “Who are we when everything changes?” sums up the film’s thematic exploration. The poster thus combines the personal question of identity with the biological reality of menopause, depicted through a blend of artistic illustration and scientific diagrams. It announces the film’s theatrical release: “IN THEATERS STARTING MARCH 12.” (filmplakat-archiv.de)
