The exhibition takes up experiences that those affected by racism experience on a daily basis.
All people have prejudices. Prejudices become problematic when people are devalued, excluded or discriminated against on the basis of them. We would like to counter a negative attitude of some people with a positive photo exhibition. This should create empathy and acceptance. No one is to be blamed or pitied, rather the individual person is the focus. The portraits encourage us to see the individual in each person and to show them the same empathy and openness as everyone else. The photos stand for a respectful coexistence in society.
