Nordischer Klang Concert STRAZEsaalNordischer Klang

Jeffrey’s Reverie (N) and Gísli Magna & Band (IS)

Two concerts as part of the festival Nordischer Klang 2023, all about folk & swing.

Jeffrey's Reverie

The US-American exile songwriter, string instrumentalist and ambassador of American folk music Jeff Wasserman has been living in Norway for a long time. Under the name Jeffrey's Reverie, he has gathered a spirited band of international acoustic multi-instrumentalists who interpret his songs and fiddle tunes in the most diverse folk styles of the USA.

The concert of Jeffrey`s Reverie can be read about on the Norwegian music blog Dust of Daylight: "The audience was rewarded with stunning musicianship, individual performances by everyone on stage, strong lyrics and in short one of the best concerts I have seen in many, many years. I can only recommend going to any stage where Jeffrey's Reverie performs. You will have to search a long time for such musicality, joy of playing and not least such a repertoire in this country."
Jeffrey Wasserman is joined on stage by Gideon Andersson, Michael Barret Donovan, Terje Kinn and Hanne Mari Karlsen.

Gísli Magna & Band

Gísli Magna is an Icelandic singer, arranger and conductor. As a singer, he has worked with Björk, Sigur Rós and many other internationally known artists. Not only has he been the acting conductor of Iceland's largest women's choir Léttsveit Reykjavíkur with more than 120 singers for many years, but he has also participated three times for Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest as an accompanying singer. His concert tours have so far taken him not only to the renowned Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavík, but also to numerous countries in Europe and even to Nigeria. This year he continues his tour of Germany with his band and the latest album Nóttin og þú.
Gísli Magna is supported by Icelandic backing singers Hafsteinn Þórólfsson and Pétur Valgarð Pétursson, pianist Robert Herrmann and double bassist Klaas Wendling, both from Germany, and Swede Tomas Svensson on drums.
