Based on true events. Unrecognized heroines - Mary, Catherine and Dorothy, who were significantly involved in John Glenn becoming the first American to orbit the earth in 1962. As scientists, they work together with other black women at the US space agency NASA. There they experience the systematic segregation of the white and black population and the associated discrimination, just as they do in their everyday lives. Higher positions in the agency remain out of reach for them and the monthly salary is disproportionate to their extraordinary achievements. Mary, Catherine and Dorothy, however, gradually make themselves irreplaceable for NASA through their knowledge and talent.
