A small black cat is shocked to discover that a huge flood is burying the old world beneath it. She saves herself on a sailing boat, where a thieving monkey, a good-natured Labrador, a sleepy capybara, and a proud secretary bird gradually find refuge. Director Gints Zilbalodis (Away - From finding Happiness) lets us drift gently through beautiful animal and water worlds in this magnificent story. Although "FLOW" refrains from excessively humanizing its protagonists, we encounter the animal adventurers in an incredibly animated way. They convey more emotions through meowing, grunting and barking than they ever could with the help of prominent dubbing voices. "FLOW" is a highlight for young and old!
"FLOW" has been awarded the Oscar 2025 in the important Best Animated Feature category and was also nominated in the Best International Feature category. This is outstanding recognition for the Latvian phenomenon: the extraordinary animated film has already amazed audiences in Cannes and gone on to win numerous awards, including four prizes in Annecy, the New York Critics Circle Award of Animation, the European Film Award, the Golden Globe.
