“Father Mother Sister Brother” is a feature film carefully structured as a triptych. The three stories revolve around the relationships between adult children and their sometimes distant parents, as well as among themselves. Each of the three chapters is set in the present day, each in a different country: “Father” is set in the northeastern United States, "Mother" in Dublin, and “Sister Brother” in Paris. It is a series of character studies, quiet, observant, and non-judgmental—and at the same time a comedy, interwoven with subtle threads of melancholy.
