Avant-garde meets groove, contemporary improvisation kisses mature blues rock.
The energetic Berlin-based Andreas Willers, who is just as interested in progressive rock as he is in free form, asked himself a rather obscure question: What would it sound like if British improvisation legend Derek Bailey had written Eric Clapton's familiar blues licks? Or would Clapton drift around in atonal free form space?
The result is the project “Derek Plays Eric,” and with it, Andreas Willers' trio is coming to STRAZE this Sunday. This combo, reduced to the essentials of guitar, bass, and drums, invites you on a wild ride—you rarely hear anything more exciting in our beautiful Hanseatic city.
