Animated and short films (polenmARkT 2025)

Animated films from the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts and short films from the Szczecin European Film Festival. Both programs offer an excellent opportunity to experience contemporary cinematic developments and the work of emerging artists.

The event comprises two exciting programs: the presentation of animated films from the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts and short films from the Szczecin European Film Festival.
The Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, renowned for its school of animated film, will show a selection of films created as diploma or student projects over the past year. These works reflect the broad spectrum of contemporary animation techniques and styles. Some of the participating artists are already enjoying growing popularity and successfully participating in international festivals. The presentation highlights the diversity of creative approaches and the special character of the Krakow animation school, which is known for its original and acclaimed films.
The Szczecin European Film Festival is a major event in the Polish-German border region and provides a platform for exchange and cooperation in the film scene. Organized by the Polish OFFicyna, the festival shows films that reflect the latest audiovisual trends. The focus is on experimental and cross-border works that open up new perspectives on reality. The program is complemented by a wide range of documentary classics and avant-garde experiments with image and sound.
